Statement of Faith – What we believe

The Holy Bible is the Word of God to all people and was written over 1500 years, at least by 40 human authors who were supernaturally guided by the Holy Spirit. All Scriptures are God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. Holy Bible is the truth without any error and completely relevant to our daily lives (Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Psalms 119:11, 89, 105; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39; 16:13-15, 17:17; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 1:1-2, 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:20-21, 3:16; 2 Timothy 3:15-17).

There is one God, self-existent and endless; He is the Alpha and Omega; He is omnipotent, omniscience and omnipresence and exists in three personalities: God (God the Father), Spirit of God (God the Holy Spirit) and Word of God (God the Son, Lord Jesus Christ) (Genesis 1:1; (Deuteronomy 6:4; Job 42:1-2; Daniel 4:35; Isaiah 46:10; Psalm 139:7–10; Matthew 19:26; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-4, 14; John 5:21-23; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Revelation 1:8).

God alone is God, Lord, Creator, completely holy and righteous; God alone can forgive us, save us from our sins, and can be trusted completely (Isaiah 45:5-7, 14, 21-22; Isaiah 45:23; Isaiah 45:18, Isaiah 48:12-13; Isaiah 6:3, Isaiah 40:25, Isaiah 45:24; Isaiah 45:21-22; Isaiah 44:8).

Mankind was created in the image of God and made to enjoy fellowship with Him. However, mankind rejected God’s love and guidance, hence all have sinned, fall short of the glory of God, and are separated from God, but all are justified freely by God’s grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:7, Genesis 3, Psalm 100:3, Isaiah 40:7; Romans 3:9-23, Romans 5:12-14, Romans 6:23, Romans 3:23-24; Ephesians 2:3).

For God so loved the world, He showed His supreme love by dying Himself as a son of God (Jesus Christ) on the cross, in place of all mankind to wipe out our sins and unrighteousness hence removing the separation between Him and mankind and whoever believes in Jesus Christ shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16; Romans 3:22-24, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 2:1-10; Hebrews 11:1-6).

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God; the Spirit we receive, bring about our adoption to sonship; and by Jesus Christ, we call God, Abba (அப்பா in Tamil) and  Father. The Holy Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8: 1-2, 14-17).

God commission us to proclaim good news to the poor, freedom for the captives, release them from darkness, bind up the broken-hearted, defend the widows, feed the poor and needy, shelter them, clothe them, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 61:1; Matthew 28:19).
